Film Hushpuppy - Beasts of the Southern Wild 2012 med Dansk Tale
I dramaet 'Hushpuppy' bor seksårige Hushpuppy (Quevenzhané Wallis) med sin far i et udstødt, fattigt men sammentømret samfund i Louisianas sumpområde. Hun er klart bevidst om den større sammenhæng i universet, polerne smelter, og urokserne, der huserer i hendes fantasi, vil føre til jordens undergang. Men det er vigtigt for Hushpuppy at holde modet oppe, for en dag vil hendes far ikke længere kunne beskytte hende. Uundgåeligt kommer oversvømmelsen, men fragmenter af det fattige samfund består, og da farens helbred skranter, begiver Hushpuppy sig ud på en søgen efter sin mor. I 'Hushpuppy' smelter magi, fantasi og den barske virkelighed sammen. Filmen var samtidig omdrejningspunkt for masser af ros ved dette års Sundance Film Festival. 'Hushpuppy' er instrueret af Benh Zeitlin, der vandt debutantprisen Caméra d'Or ved sidste års filmfestival i Cannes. 'Hushpuppy' blev nomineret til fire Oscars, heriblandt Bedste film og Bedste kvindelige hovedrolle.
